ISDT FD-100 Discharger - Laziness & Procrastination Has Met Its Match.
Okay - I am fully aware that there is nothing "ultra exciting" about a product like this, especially when compared to other hot helis, jets and other bits and bobs of pure RC goodness. So why get excited (at all?) over something like a discharger? Well, if you're anything like me and have a poor habit of storage charging after a long fly day, this device may be the saving grace you're in search of.
LiPo batteries have certainly dropped in price over the years, but there is still an investment in such purchases - especially when you have many on hand. So, taking care of your batteries is key to maximizing the life of said batteries, and for me, that means making sure all my LiPo batteries are all properly storage charged at the end of my day of flying, or at the very least, the following day. However, more often than not, that doesn't happen, which is why the ISDT FD-100 will be my new best friend once the flying day has commenced.
So, why not pull out the iCharger setup and discharge the packs that way? For starters, my iCharger carrying case setup weighs in at 40 pounds, and it's a hassle to get setup and working for just a few batteries, hence my reluctance to do so. In all reality, it's simply a whole lot of laziness on my part, coupled with a dab of procrastination to sum up the dilemma nicely.
Enter the ISDT FD-100 Discharger. Compact and light weight, this device is the perfect solution to discharging batteries with ultra levels of ease & simplicity, turning the process from a frustrating pain to a simple plug and play fix. With the ability to pull 80W of power at 6A of discharge, the FD-100 will quickly bring your packs to a proper storage voltage in short order, making LiPo care as easy as one, two, three. And since the FD-100 has multiple safety systems to keep your batteries from being over discharged (along with abnormal cell voltage detection & auto cut off protection), using the FD-100 is as easy & safe as ever.
