The strong point of this battery charger, is also it's a weak point. The battery charger is very small in size and light, easy to carry to the field to charge batteries at the Flying Field. However, the fact that it's so small makes it hard to plug batteries and balance leads into the front of the battery charger. So I modified some 6s balance blocks, so they would fit into the 4S plug in on the charger. This gives me plenty of extended room to plug in the balance leads. Without this every time I tried to plug in my balance leads the heavy wires on my batteries push the battery away from the charger and unplugged the balance leads. I also made charger leads to accommodate the three different type of plugins I have, this gave me a little extra room to wiggle and plugging in my batteries which really helped. I particularly like all the information on the display screen for each individual battery. William
My unit charge good and I really like the digital readout. However when I tried to discharge some batteries it ran them down below two votes. I thought I must have set it wrong, so I tried it again. I got busy and forgot about watching it I went back about 4 hours later it was down to 1.75 votes per cell. It was discharging very very slow. This was happening on station number 3. I tried to plug it into my computer to upgrade it and it kept giving me an error message of low voltage. Couldn't figure out how to make it work. So I returned it to Walmart where I ordered it from. However I like the charger so much I ordered another one just like it from the same people who supplied this one to me. It got lost in UPS shipping but supposed to come tomorrow. The unit is so small you will need to order some charging boards so that you have enough room to plug in the balance wires. Some of my batteries have short balance wires and the heavy charging wires push the batteries away from the charger and unplugged the balance wires every time I tried to use it
So far only charged batteries once
Very nice compact charger. Works as expected, very easy to use. The scroll wheel on mine doesn't scroll reliably to the left but that's not a big deal. 4 charging ports are amazing if you have got many batteries. Measures internal resistance too which was a surprise. Thanks HD and ToolkitRC!
Works perfectly.
